Terms of Use

Last updated: October 6, 2026

These Terms of Use apply to your use of Flower Gardening (“the site”). By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

What the site provides

The site publishes free guides about planning, planting and caring for flower gardens, for general information and personal enjoyment. We work to keep the guides clear and accurate, but we do not promise that every guide is free of errors or that you will get a particular result by following it. Gardening results vary with climate, soil and weather, and with the plant, the site and the season. The guides describe what to check and what usually helps; they are not a diagnosis of your plant or your garden, and time estimates are approximate.

Gardening information at your own risk

The content on the site is general information. It is not professional horticultural, veterinary or medical advice, and it is not a substitute for local advice, such as that of a regional extension service, or for a qualified professional who can examine your plant, your pet or you. Hardiness zones, frost dates and soils differ from place to place, and no single planting calendar fits everywhere. You follow the guides at your own risk, and you are responsible for deciding whether a suggestion suits your garden and your local conditions.

Plant safety and product labels

Some garden plants are harmful to pets or to people if eaten. Nothing on this site is a statement that a plant is safe to eat or safe around a particular animal. For questions about plant safety, ask a veterinarian, a poison control service or your local extension service. If a pet or a child eats part of a plant, contact a veterinarian, a doctor or a poison control service right away.

Pesticide and fertilizer products must be used according to their labels. If you use a pesticide, a fertilizer or any other product mentioned in a guide, read the product label and follow it. The label on the product you bought takes priority over anything written on this site, including its directions on rates, dilution, protective gear, timing, storage and keeping the product away from children and pets.

Using our content

Unless stated otherwise, the text, illustrations and design of the site belong to Flower Gardening. You are welcome to:

  • read, print and use the guides for personal, classroom, library or other non-commercial purposes;
  • share a link to any page;
  • quote short passages with a clear credit and a link back to the original page.

Please do not republish whole guides or illustrations, sell them, or present them as your own work without written permission.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the site. This includes attempting to gain unauthorized access, interfering with how the site works, sending spam or unlawful content through the contact form, or copying the site in bulk by automated means beyond what is needed for normal search engine indexing.

The site links to a small number of third-party reference pages that we think are useful. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Gardening results vary with climate, soil and weather, and no outcome is guaranteed. To the extent permitted by law, Flower Gardening is not liable for any loss, damage, injury or illness arising from your use of the site or from following its guides, including the loss of plants and harm to a person or an animal. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.

Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy explain how information is handled when you use the site.
